Here is what you had to say about the story in the
DWO
Forums:
"Absolutely great, British programming at it's best..."

"I thought this episode was a credit to the
new series. From Aliens In London, I
was worried that the second part of
Empty Child would let down all the
hard work, story and atmosphere
established but thankfully it
didn't. The quality from the first
part shone thorugh in the second
with great acting and script
throughout. Am lovin' Nancy as well,
please let her be in series 2 as
Rose's replacement.
There's been a great deal of talk
thoughout the media and forum site
about Jack's sexuality, The Doctor's
jealousy and Rose caught between. I
think, as a 21st Century drama
written by the man who penned Queer
As Folk, it should be expected that
issues like this be tackled. As Star
Trek and DW in the classic era
tackled social issues like rascism
in a parable way, issues like this
are now more prominent. The script
dealt with Jack very subtley and
came nowhere near to being crude.
Younger audiences should be raised
thinking there's nothing to it and
RTD introduced it without making it
a big deal which is exactly the
right approach. In fact, my only
criticism is when Nancy blackmail
the man bonking the butcher in
return for a pair of pliers. Kind of
let down the 'what the big deal
approach' when you blackmail the
guy!!!
And as for the end scene with Rose
and The Doctor dancing around the
Tardis (roundels as disco lights to
top it off) while teasing Jack -
FANTASTIC. Everyone assumes the
companions jump from one life and
death situation to another and
people forget that the crew must
have fun at some point. You dont'
stay with a biazrre alien who keeps
landing in death's door unless you
bond and have moments where it's
purely fun. The last scene of The
Doctor Dances finally shows you what
being part of the crew can and
probably would be. So just because
we haven't seen it before doesn't
make it wrong and doesn't threaten
to tear apart the Doctor as we know
him. I'd love to see more of the
crew enjoying themselves and not
putting up with constant promises of
one day visiting the eye of harmony
for a break that never comes!..."

"It was a good storyline, and I'm glad we have a new
companion joining the doctor, but
i'm not sur I like the way rose lead
on poor Jack, and how much she is
becoming romantiacally involved with
the Doctor. If the doctor wants a
girlfriend they should bring back
romana! I think Rose was too harsh
on poor Jack, who ahd to stand there
and watch! Bad show rose...bad show..."
