The Directors Vol.2 brings the world of a Doctor Who Director into a new light with interest and clarity, and with 16 stories collectively between them, you just know that this DVD is going to be worth it's cover price.
We join Directors Christopher Barry and Michael Briant at the Panopticon 7 convention, held at London'd Imperial College. Although very different in their styles and ways of directing, the pair really compliment each other in this interview, and seem to share a lot of sentiments and ideals.
Out of the two Directors it's Micahel that really carries the interview, with energy and some extremely amusing stories from his time on the show, including a rather frightening experience whilst filming in Wookiee Hole caves. He even explains how one of his stories was the only one in Doctor Who history to involve a Dalek smash-up.
The inteview rounds up with Michael giving a rather hauntingly frank view about the future of Doctor Who, and Christopher finishing up with a positive and optimistic message.
The value of the DVD doesn't stop at the interview though, as we are treated to a bonus panel as part of the Special Features, which involves David Banks interviewing Andrew Skilleter, Sandra Reid and Alister Pearson about the CYBERMEN book.
Overall, another fantastic offering from the Reeltime Pictures team. The way they present and package archive footage is remarkably refreshing, and leaves the viewer looking forward to the next offering.
