The Interview

DWO caught up with Doctor Who Actress, Georgia Moffett, to discuss Dreamland, Fandom, and... Lionel Richie.

The new animated Doctor Who adventure Dreamland has finally hit our red buttons, and what a corker it is! How did you react when you were asked to play the part of Cassie Rice?

I was thrilled to get asked to play Cassie in dreamland if only so I could finally get to be an actual companion! Doctor Who is and always has been such a massive part of my life that I am always thrilled to do anything connected with it. When I saw my name in the beginning titles I actually cried a bit...sad case I know but hey! The only thing I was slightly upset by is that the cartoon version of me is hotter!

In just over a year, you’ve played two Doctor Who companions, had a gutsy role in Spooks: Code 9, and have just hit our screens in the latest episode of Merlin. What’s next for Georgia Moffett?

I have been extremely lucky to have worked on some great programmes. Most recently Merlin which was brilliant fun and the cast were some of the nicest people I have worked with. A Miss Marple I did last year is out soon and I begin filming a new series for the BBC next year and there are a couple of other things I hope to do which is great.

You’ve recently attended a few Doctor Who conventions. How do you find the world of Doctor Who fandom?

I have been going to conventions since I can remember. I was dragged along to them when I was little and to be honest didn't really understand what all the fuss was about. It wasn't until the new series returned and I realized what the whole 'Who' thing meant that I suddenly insisted on going to all of them with my dad, so I am loving now being a part of them. I'm just a big fan now and after my duties have finished at them I can often be found wandering around looking at what merchandise I can pick up!

With Christmas just a few weeks away, what will you be doing to celebrate the festive season, and what do you really want for Christmas?

This Christmas will be my 25th Birthday so it's a big one. I just think Christmas is about spending time with family and friends and eating A LOT, so that's exactly what I shall be doing. You know I am not very good at asking for things for Christmas but anything Lionel Richie related would do me...I have an unhealthy love for the man!

Finally, if you could have one round trip in the TARDIS, anywhere in time and space, where would you go and why?

If I had one trip in the tardis where would I go?... I would slip through a worm hole in time and space to avoid ever having to answer this impossible question.

Hahaha - Possibly the best answer we have had yet to that question, and quite right too! Thank you Georgia.

Have a fantastic Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year! x
